L'Expression

Bourgueil

Characteristics

On the hillsides of Bourgueil facing south, clay and limestone soils (or "tuffeau") are the most common. L’Expression grows on this outstanding terroir.

The variety Cabernet Franc expresses its full power through our older grapevines, aged 65 to 80 years. On this site, we let grapes mature to their maximum level.

Hand-picking and a drastic selection allow longer maceration lengths (around 18 to 21 days), which will bring density and flesh to this wine. It matures in 400-litre casks for nearly twelve months, gaining black cherry, vanilla and spicy aromas.

Tasting suggestions

This wine will express its fully maturity within five to ten years.

L’Expression is a non-typical cuvée. It goes best with red meat, game and cheese, but may also delight you as a pre-dinner drink. Don't hesitate to decant it; it is to be served at 14 to 17°C temperatures.
